Back in December some very dear (and very wise) friends of mine made the decision that I was going to read the Twilight series so we could all go see the movie together over New Years. While I protested quite vehemently, these ladies do not give up easily, and I quickly submitted. Oh, thank goodness I did. I immediately became intensely addicted, staying up all hours of the night and completely ignoring my wifely & motherly duties to read just one more chapter. My kids got a lot of baths during those 2 weeks so I could sit and read while they played. I don't care if the books are written for teen girls- I love them. I wish I could be a vampire. It would be awesome. (But for the record, I did not name my daughter after the Twilight books. That would be lame. It is merely a happy accident.)
About the same time I started reading the Twilight books, Jeff decided that we should try growing Jackson's hair out. In my opinion, this has not been the greatest idea. For almost 3 years, Jackson has had his trademark mohawk. He was born with it, and his incredible cowlick has ensured its' longevity. But I said okay. I think he's adorable, so even with some moppy hair, he's pretty cute.
Then a few weeks ago, someone told me that Jackson's hair now looks like Edward's (from Twilight... seriously, read the books). Since then, several more people have made the same observation. I began to look at his hair from a completely different light. In some small way, I can have a vampire baby.
Take that, Renesmee.
(this one looks especially brooding-Edward-vampiresque to me)
So, my next reading assignment is to read all 6 Harry Potter books before the movie comes out in the summer. When do you think Jackson is going to start wearing horn rim glasses?
