jackson the jack-o-lantern

it's official.
jackson lost his first tooth!

that little tooth had been loose for awhile.
then monday afternoon we decided to make an impromptu trip to disneyland
so the kids could see fantasmic for the first time.
(it's so late that we never want to keep them up.  or fight the crowds.)
while we were driving, jackson said,
"guys, my tooth is REALLY loose now!"

he was right.
it was the loose that kinda grosses you out a little bit.

we layed out our blankets for fantasmic
(3 hours early and we still didn't have front row seats.  crazy! but they were still really good seats)
and ate a little dinner.
all of a sudden, i hear
"oh gosh!"
i quickly turned to tell jackson we don't say that, we say 'oh my goodness',
only to see this:

a teeny-tiny little tooth in his hand!

it came out all on its own!

he was so excited!
since bella was sitting right next to him,
i made sure to have him tell her that it didn't hurt at all...
i figured that couldn't hurt for down the road, right? ;)

we had a few hours before the show started,
so jeff & i took turns taking the kids on rides while we waited.

every one we met got to hear all about his tooth.
it was so cute how excited both jackson & bella were.
bella is convinced she already has a loose tooth now :)

we got home super late that night,
and jackson fell asleep on the way home.
so we placed his tooth under his pillow for him.

the next morning...
the tooth fairy had arrived!
along with $3
(it was his first tooth AND he lost it in disneyland)
she left him this note:

and this on his nightstand:

did you know the tooth fairy's wings change color every night?
she left a little cup of water that her wings touched
so he would know what color they were,
along with a good sprinkling of fairy dust.

charlotte may have drank some of  the wing water.
i'm waiting for her to sprout her own little wings now.

it was a very exciting night!
i can hardly believe that i have a child old enough to lose teeth..
it seems like he just got that little tooth.
