gigantic bonus of living in orange county?
my brother, aaron, and his family live just 15 minutes away!
we love aaron, kari, aidan (7), and liam (4)
we just don't get to see them that much, normally.
we're hoping to change that now that we live so close.
this morning we headed to aliso viejo to watch liam's soccer game.
jackson played soccer last fall,
so i thought i knew what kind of game i was going to get.....
a bunch of 4-year-olds running around,
no idea of what they were doing.
this was not the case.
liam knew exactly what he was doing.
those kids were ON it.
i saw some serious fancy footwork out there.
and check out their legit uniforms!
i was super impressed by these kids.
(of course, i thought liam was the best. but i'm a wee bit biased as his auntie)
i love the little tongue bitten in concentration.
he was intense!
my kids did not want to be left out of the fun,
especially bella.
during the halftime, uncle aaron brought her on the field for some soccer of her own.
i think this little girl will be ready next fall!
charlotte wanted in on the action, too.
liam, we are so proud of you!
here was their team banner.
isn't that cool?
the next team playing after them was:
the pink sparkles!!
is that not the cutest thing ever?
a whole team of little girls in pink uniforms (and their opponents were in lilac).
i wanted to steal one of those little girl's outfits, stick it on bella,
and throw her on the field right there.
a-dor-a-ble.
uncle aaron and cousin aidan kicking the ball around.
(aidan's game was later in the afternoon, and his daddy is the coach :)
jackson much preferred watching liam to playing himself.
(please note the 'r is for rambo' shirt. old navy clearance for $3. i don't know why, but this shirt totally makes me laugh)
after the big game,
we headed over to rubio's to enjoy some lunch together.
mommy likes fish tacos.
the kids enjoyed some time playing together after lunch.
a little hide-and-go-seek...
climbing on sculptures....
and shoulder rides.
the 5 little cousins!
i love how aidan has his arm around jackson, and liam is holding charlottes's hand.
cuteness.
i am so excited that our kids will have an opportunity to grow up together
and love each other.
all the kids are excited about their new cousin, macie,
set to arrive any day now!!!
i also thought i'd share a little video of the kiddos
during our car ride to the game today.
(they are BIG car singers! they especially love taylor swift :)
they were singing along to colbie callait's "i do".
it is charlotte's FAVORITE song.
(i actually heard her singing it in her bed at 3am the other day)
my favorite is around :14 seconds in when charlotte starts bopping her head.
love.
what a great day!
Thanks for sharing our day. You captured an intensity in Liam that I couldn't see from the sidelines. I wish I could slow down to see the beauty in things and reflect the way you do. The boys (and us) love having family closer - the arm around Jackson and grasped hand are so raw and genuine. They have been starved for family and are so pleased that they have you near. Thank you for posting this - made me see something today that I had not fully appreciated. - k
ReplyDeleteI love, love, love this Shara! What a blessing to have all of the cousins together! Miss you guys!
